FAST---A JAINISM KEY FOR WELL-BEING---!!!.

 Friends, after return from USA I noticed that we as Indians have more intake of foods in India. In India we have so many dishes food availble. In India we have so many festivals and celebrations. Any foodie can add so many weight as he wished. In such a context two social events acted as an eye opener for me. Recently- I attended two social events  organized by Jain Social groups.  Both events were for facilitation of devotees  doing "Aayambil Oli  and Varshi Tap Sadhna

Former is performed twice in a year. It is undertaken twice in a year inspired by story of King Shripal and Sati Mainasundari .It is for nine day from Saptami to Pakki. While 2nd is for thirteen months to mark respect for Bhagwan Rishabh Deo. I felt very thrilled to hear details of it. I discussed with couples and seniors doing this Tap. On return to home I gave thought to  such a long Tap and concluded that this is the key our Bhagwan gave us for  our well being, earning  Punya and
maintaining good health. We will study benefits of such Tap Sadhna. 1.-Fast is one of the major tool of Nirjara out of  twelve tools to cut Karmas layers on soul. It  can be of  different types from Navkarshi to Maas-Khaman. Majority prefer it can be done as per own choice. 2-For  good health less food ensures control over taste and stomach.
3- In Aayambil there is giving up of "VIGAY". It means no to sugar,
salt, oil, Ghee and honey. It is a blessed diet for all patients suffering from high cholesterol , blood pressure, veins blockages and diabetes.
4.-Our digestive system needs rest and break from constant eating.    5-I heard that eight days fast can cut off food to bad cells of cancer and can assist patient for recovery. Still medical approval for needed 6-With "Pachkan" we get category of Desh -Virati Shrawak, This qualify to next birth in Deo Loga as informed in Aagams . 
7-Bhagwan has asked his followers to observe six Thithi for fast in a period of  fortnight, They are Bij, Panchmi, Ashtami, Gyaras, Chodas and Pakki. If one can add "Poshad or Daya to fast it can be good one. 8.-In case it is difficult for fast one can go for no to vegetables. roots and food after sunset on those days .It can add discipline to our lives.
In a nutshell any Tap easy or difficult Bhagwan has advocated for our well being. It fetch Punya, Nirjara and good health for all the  doers. Even asking their "Sata and offering "Anumodana" can be beneficial.
As a summary friends fast is really a key to earning Punya and  good for health. Health benefits cannot be denied by medical science. Give it a small try from smaller to bigger and see the peace health you get.
As per my experience thinking to go far fast is difficult but let you have courage and go far Pachkhan. Once bound by Pachkan all play and fears of mind get vanished then there is smooth toad to fast till new dawn arrives. Two time daring makes you an expert doing fast. Once given a try it will open Pandora box for you for balance of life.
