Friends here is the summary of Gurudeo's lecture in series of soul improvement. "Maya" means actions carried out or planned with
intentions of committing fraud or cheating. It may be undertaken for
monetary gain or otherwise .As a human ,very few can claim to be free from such severe sin numbered at eight in 18 sins. Maya may
cover- half truth, false or misleading representation, breach of trust
,indirect tactics or smartness for immoral gains and distorted facts.
It's ambit may cover hiding facts, false promises, biased or impartial judgment and favoritism. Maya gets generated by greed and may end up with backstabbing. Many of us live with having two facets.
Real one may be different than as seen by outer world.
Many of you present in hall might have heard story of " Eklaya "-
from Mahabharat .He was denied training in archery or science
called as "Dhanurvidya " by Donacharya. But Eklaya forgot his
insult and done self practice of it in presence of statue of Gurudeo Dron. When Guru came to know Eklaya's excellent skill in it, he
got fear for his beloved disciple "Arjun". To protect Arjun's future
Guru with fraudulent intentions asked thumb of Eklaya in token of
Gurudakhina or fee. Eklya smiling fulfilled it even knowing that
from next second, he will not be able to shot arrow and has to give
up the skill. Brothers, we can guess havoc this Maya played in life
of Gurudrona in later stage on battlefield of famous Mahabharat.
Now let us leave ancient time and turn to modern times. With new
education, we have developed new tools of Maya. Yesterday one
devotee has shared this news with me. He said "Gurudeo now after
20 years of medicines, I turned out to be free from diabetes and
blood pressure. On inquiry he told that as International Standards of
both disease are changed, my blood reports are in new normal norm
He suspected malpractice in setting standard to achieve higher sale of medicines. He termed it as game of corporate lobby. Friends I do not know the truth, but if it is correct it falls in high Maya tool used
against masses. I quoted two cases for reference but you many be knowing more cases of this severe sin Maya from day to day life.
As a Jainism devotee, one is expected to revisit contribution of
Maya in accumulated wealth. Agony of life is that one accumulate
wealth for son and his heirs, but the same son lit the fire of dead body. So just give the sin a thought and try to keep away from it to
most possible extent. Maya causes female gender fixation. In worst
cases it may be in hated animal category like crow, lizard like one.
As a human we all cover this sin. Politics, bureaucracy, legal,
medical, construction ,jewelry, business are high risk zones .Thus
give it a thought and try to avoid it. Try to mold soul in a straight and simple attitude and behavior " Gurudeo concluded.
