JAINISM-SAMAIK-A BEST TOOL TO CUT KARMAS------------!!!

Every one can not take Diksha and become monk or Sadhu due to so many domestic duties. Such as head of family +various attachments.
But he has desire of going for salvation or at least to know the path
For such souls Bhagwan Mahveer prescribed Samaik. Samaik is a way of engaging one self in religious activities with a object to prevent incoming sins and cut accumulated sins. The essence of it is pure state of heart. mind and equality feelings ( Sambhav) for all living things. Samaik is prior and basic study for getting salvation.
To be in one Samaik 48 minutes of total detachment is required .
Why it is for 48 minutes and not for 60 minutes----- ?.Reason being time counting different  approach in Aagam. Let us study reasons
It starts with smallest Samay, Aavalika, one in and one breath, Pran. Stok, Luv and Muhurata --etc. Last. maximum countable number  is 194 digits. It is counted by Shirashapahelika. It is a number with 54 digits and 140 zeroes. This is counting of numbers by Jain Aagams.

The period beyond it is expressed by  concepts termed as Palyopam and Sagropam --numbers cannot count it. Deep hole/ocean is basis.
Only 48 minutes is minimum countable period as per Aagam i.e. Muhurata. The day is of 30 Muhurta means 30 x 48=1440 minutes.
If divided by 60 minutes for each hour ,we get 24 hours. So the basic purpose is to reserve minimum 1 part out of 30 parts for soul. Hence Samaik is for 1 Muhurat. Secondly 2 minutes from each hour for 24 hours equal to 48 minutes that one compulsory shall use for his soul.
In Samaik one has to detach himself from domestic affairs. He can not eat, nor speak with others. Only to be engaged in pure religious activities. Taking Samaik and completing it require speaking 8 and 9 Padas. It requires clean space and some accessories termed as Aasan, Muppati, Punjani, white two clothes to replace shirt and pant and one Baithak to put on holy Aagams. Samaik is a test tool to practice for
looking within self. It is a test how to forget all connection and see
if you can live without world and it's  all various connection. Samaik
starts with words "Karemi Bhante ". Bhante means with Arihant and Siddha Bhagwan as witness, I intend to keep away from all acts
which attract sins. (Sawadya Yogoka Tyag with 2 Karan and 3 Yog)
.

After taking Samaik one can engage one self in all types of religion activities. Can include all or any of followings auspicious activities.
1-Jaap of Navkar Mantra or name of  24 Thirthankar Bhagwan.
2-Pratikaman before sunrise and after sunset.
3-Reading any one Aagam out of 32 Aagamas.
4-Reading Puchhisunam. It is also Swadyaha since it is composed by Siddha Bhagwan Sudharma Swami in praise of Lord Mahaveer.
5-Prayers of Jain Dharma by self without use of electronic devices .
6-Bhaktamber composed by Aacharya Mangtungacharya in praise of Rishabhdeo Bhagwan. It is in Sanskrit with  forty eight stanza.
7-Kalyanmandir composed by Aacharya Siddhasen Diwakar in praise of Lord Parshwanathji. It is also in Sanskrit with 44 Padas.
8- Badi Saadhuvandana composed by Aacharya Jaimalji Maharaj in praise of noble souls who attained salvation or high place in heaven
There is no restrictions but one shall engage himself in all religious activities only. One must take care not to take this time as spare time to plan business or domestic affairs or chat with fellow colleagues.
So let us make our human life and Jain background meaningful by regular Samaik. One Samaik is not capable of reducing all sins but it is the beginning on path of salvation. Just imagine Sadhuji are in 24 hours Samaik till last breath. Let us start with a one Samail daily.

Friends one Samaik daily is minimum for us. Let us take first step towards salvation by engaging our self in Samaik. One must aim to
engage in Samaik avoiding 32 faults-10+10+12= mind, speech and
body. For details of those faults please refer Samaiksutra. Major
need is to detach mind from all surrounding and concentrating on
teachings of Mahaveer Bhagwan and contained in Jinwani.

JAI JINENDRA-------------!!!-------- JAI MAHAVEER------!!!.
