What is in name-call a rose by any name, the fragrance will not get
changed.Shakespeare wrote these famous lines some where in past.
Now please see and read the following snap carefully. Is it true----?.
Is it true for majority of us---?? Bhagwan told donations and charity to be a good way to add to good deeds. It creates Punya. We follow it but with our weakness for displaying our names in all ways we do it.
It is expected that for donations even own second hand shall not know what first hand did. The secret donations carry more weight than one publicized. Due to our weakness for name, we do not get satisfaction unless we see our name attached to such donations.
You may visit any Temple or Dharmashala, you can see number of name plates carved on marble plates to display names of donors at the entrance. I remember, I searched for number of hours the name of my grandfather who donated a small sum for a Temple. In Sthanak or Upashray all small items from Gurudeo's table to watch--- meant for time, fans etc. carry donor's names.
It is a most hard task for painters to show their art. The moving fan with red names makes a wonderful view. In wedding gifts, it is a compulsory job to print name of donor to remind the receiver for the event. We also intend receiver to keep the memory fresh for ever.
This is one part of our weakness for name. Second one is more dangerous to add name of Bhagwan for our business empire to get flourish irrespective of commodity involved. For example-- Arihant Exports, Mahaveer foods, Parshvanath trading, Mahaveer marbles, Vimalnath packaging and so on. The list is really endless.
First those business may involve many activities of sins. Secondly we may be adopting unfair practices to make more profit and more success. We must think, whether we are doing justice to great souls whose names we are using commercially for our selfish goals--- ?
From taxation etc. angle ,we may not be able to change current name but certainly, we can bring good ethics and take care for future. I am sorry if this blog has hurt anybody but it is for self searching nature rather than criticism. I get upset to see commercial use of Bhagwan.
In Buddhism dominated countries, it is an offence to use Buddha's
name for personal use. There cannot be disrespect for deities. Let us
review our love for exhibition and self centered objects.
JAI JINENDRA--------------!!! JAI MAHAVEER---------------!!!.
